The knitting pattern is in Finnish and is delivered as a paper booklet.
The Marseille Sweater is knitted from the top down. First, the upper part of the back piece is knitted flat and the shoulders are shaped with shortened rows. Then the shoulders are knitted separately flat without shortened rows and joined to form the upper part of the front piece. The front and back pieces are knitted separately and joined at the bottom of the armholes, after which the body is knitted in the round with circular needles. The sleeves are knitted from the stitches picked up from the armholes and shaped with shortened rows. The sleeves are knitted in the round with circular needles and double pointed needles or by looping. Finally, the folded neckline edge is knitted from the stitches picked up. The stripes are made according to the pattern.
Size selection guide
The shirt has about 25 cm of slack, meaning that its circumference should be 25 cm larger than your bust. Sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL are designed to fit a bust of 80–85 (85–90) 90–95 (95–100) 100–110 (110–120) 120–130 (130–140) 140–150 cm. The measurements of the finished shirt are given on the front page of the pattern. Measure yourself before you start working so that you can choose the right size. Example: if your bust (or the widest part of your upper body) is 90 cm, choose size S. The bust of a size S shirt is 115 cm, meaning that there would be 25 cm of slack in this case.
